What Can you Learn?
First talk: Successful Online Searching: Making the Most of Your Time Online
While there are millions of records online, they often can be difficult to access. Explore methods to uncover your family history in search engines, databases, and digital collections. Techniques will include clustering, developing keywords, truncation and phrase searching.

Followed by Q & A – have your questions answered.

Second talk: Beyond the Names and Dates: Records to Expand Your Family Tree
While census and birth, death, and marriage records provide core resources for our research, thousands of other record types help to illustrate the lives of our ancestors and break through brickwalls. Uncover treasures found in court files, newspapers, immigration records, and social histories that can add depth to your research.
Followed by an update on “new records coming soon to findmypast”.
Get the inside information on the new technology coming soon to findmypast and uncover the wonderful new records soon to be published on findmypast – some have never been digitised before and will be available online for the first time!
