It’s that time of year again. As the frantic pre-holiday season rush continues in the lead-up to Christmas, family history research often takes a temporary second place to last-minute Christmas shopping, gift-wrapping and decorating. (You can hardly be blamed for putting your living relatives above your deceased ones at this time of year!)
But in case you miss having some time away from the records of yesteryear, we thought we’d spread some Christmas cheer of our own. While searching through the ever-expanding newspapers in the findmypast collection, we found this Christmassy gem from the Nottingham Evening Post, 9 December 1944:
