All of Findmypast's Australian and New Zealand records are FREE to access from 21-25 April 2017.

To mark Anzac Day, we're making all of our Australian and New Zealand records FREE from Friday 21 - Tuesday 25 March 2017.

Free access will begin at 00:00 (AEST) on 21 April and end at 23.59 (AEST) on 25 April

During this time you can enjoy all 96 million of Findmypast's Australian and New Zealand records completely free.

What is Included in the FREE Access?

The easiest way to see what is included in this special free access is to visit our A-Z of records and make sure Australia & New Zealand is selected from the countries listed under 'Showing records from'.

What is Not Included?

None of our British, Irish, US or Canadian records are included in this free access promotion. To view those records you'll need a suitable subscription. Find out more details on our payment page.

How Do I Access the FREE Records?

From 21-25 April, you can take advantage of our free access to Australian and New Zealand records in 3 simple steps.

1. Register or Sign-in

If you are not already registered with Findmypast, you'll need to do so in order to view the free records. Registering is free and only takes a few moments. Simply visit our registration page and complete your details to set up your Findmypast account. If you are already registered with Findmypast, you can sign-in here.

2. Search Australia & New Zealand Records

To start searching our free Australian and New Zealand records, click 'Search' on the blue menu at the top of the site and select 'Search all records' from the drop-down list.

This will bring you to the general search page. In order to search the free Australian and New Zealand records, your search location must be focused on Australia and New Zealand only. Make sure the country on the drop down menu on the top or left hand side of the screen is set to Australia & New Zealand.

Fill in the search form with any details you know about your Australian and New Zealand ancestors and click the blue 'Search Australia & New Zealand records' button.

3. View the Records

Once you've clicked search, you'll be taken to the search results page where records matching your criteria will be listed. You can edit your search or order the results from this screen. If you would like to view any of the free records click the small blue transcript, image or pdf icons beside it. The transcript is a typed version of the record, containing the most important information, while the image (if available) will show you exactly what the original record looked like and often contains extra details that the transcript doesn't. A pdf result usually holds the entire page of a publication which could contain lists with multiple names.
