With our family tree builder and helpful hints tool, you can, and will, get a blossoming tree in just a few minutes. This short video shows you exactly how to do it
Free, and dead simple to use, thanks to our hints system our family tree builder does most of the hard work for you. It doesn't just let you store the information you have already discovered about your family, it actually searches our billions of records to provide you with information on family members you might not have known. By cross-referencing birth, marriage, death and census records it can even reveal the existence of family members you never knew you had.
You don't need to pay for a subscription to create a family tree on Findmypast, but you will need to create an account so we can save it. You can also download your tree, and because we use the industry-standard GEDCOM format, you should easily be able to upload it to other family history websites. And we will in no way judge you for doing that. Promise!
Multiple trees can be saved under one account, so you can even build one for a friend, which, believe us, is one of the best ways to guarantee your place on their Christmas card list for all eternity. Alternatively, you could explore the lineage of celebrities that particularly interest you. Here's our investigation into British PM Theresa May's family history, minus the actual tree because we would have to share our account details for you to see it, but... you get the gist.
